Marylanders To Prevent Gun Violence Honors Senator Brian Frosh & Kathleen Dumais Today

On Monday, February 10 at 6pm in Annapolis, Marylanders to Prevent Gun Violence will present its first Gun Violence Prevention Champion Awards to Senator Brian Frosh and Delegate Kathleen Dumais for their key leadership roles in enacting the life-saving Firearms Safety Act of 2013. The awards will be presented at Harry Browne’s, 66 State Circle, as part of an award presentation by the Maryland Public Health Association. The Maryland Public Health Association will also be honoring Senator Frosh as well as presenting an environmental health award to Delegate Jim Hubbard from the Maryland Environmental Health Network. “Senator Brian Frosh and Delegate Kathleen Dumais were the two key legislative leaders who made the life-saving Firearms Safety Act of 2013 a reality, “ said Vincent DeMarco, President of Marylanders To Prevent Gun Violence. “We are proud to give both of them our very first Gun Violence Prevention Champion Awards. They both played a critical role in drafting our new gun violence prevention law and working hard to get it passed in Committee and on the Floor. We look forward to working with them to make sure this law is fully implemented to save as many lives as possible in our state.”
